Halloween Dinner Ideas Both Kids and Adults Will Love

1. Pizza Skulls

It's guts oozing out of skulls — but it's actually pizza. How awesome is that? Check out this pizza skulls recipe for an instantly gory Halloween party.

Ingredients:

  • Pizza dough, 1 can
  • Pizza sauce, 6 Tbsp.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese, 1 1/2 cups
  • Cooked and crumbled Italian sausage, 1/4 cup
  • Chopped pepperoni, 24 slices

Directions:

First, spray skull pan with oil and preheat oven at 375 degrees. Proceed to unroll the pizza dough and form it into a rectangle, around 15 x 10 inches. Divide it into six strips and put each strip into the skull cavities. Add cheese, pizza sauce, pepperoni slices, some sausage, and top with more cheese. When the cavities are stuffed, fold the dough over to seal. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.

2. Fried Vampire Bat Wings

These fried vampire bat wings make for a very easy, yet tasty, spooky appetizer.

Ingredient:

  • Thick-sliced ham steak, 2-3 lbs.

Directions:

First, remove the wrapping from the ham steak, discard its juices, and lay on a chopping board. Proceed to cut out bat shapes using a bat-shaped cookie cutter. Fry cut-out ham steak on a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook until golden brown and serve.

3. Stuffed Mushroom Eyeballs

It only takes five ingredients to whip up these tasty stuffed mushroom eyeballs!

Ingredients:

    • Large button mushrooms, 1 lb.
    • Softened cream cheese, 8 oz.
    • Shredded white cheddar, 1 cup
    • Garlic powder, 1/4 tsp.
    • Pimiento stuffed olives, 10-15 pcs.

Directions:

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove the stems off the mushrooms and place them bottom side up on the baking sheet.

Then, mix the cream cheese, white cheddar, and garlic powder in a bowl. Roll 1-2 tsp. of the cheese mixture into balls and put into the cavities of the mushrooms, without overstuffing them.

Lastly, place the pimento stuffed olives flat side up onto the top of the filling and bake for 12-15 minutes. Serve warm.

4. Jack-o'-Lantern Pot Pies

Serve these Jack-o'-Lantern pot pies as your main course for a frightfully tasty Halloween dinner.

Ingredients:

  • Olive oil, 2 tbsp.
  • Sweet potatoes, 1 lb.
  • Large onion, 1 pc.
  • Kosher salt and pepper
  • All-purpose flour, 1/4 cup
  • Dry white wine, 1/2 cup
  • Low-sodium chicken broth, 2 cups
  • Small rotisserie chicken, 1 pc.
  • Fresh flat-leaf parsley, 1 cup
  • Freshly-grated/ground nutmeg, 1 tsp.
  • Frozen puff pastry, 2 sheets
  • Large egg, 1 pc.

Directions:

First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees and grease eight 6-ounce ramekins. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Toss sweet potatoes, onion, salt, and pepper into the skillet and cook for 10-12 minutes or until tender. Toss in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Add the wine and broth and bring to a boil. Proceed to add the rotisserie chicken, flat-leaf parsley, and ground nutmeg.

Spread the mixture evenly into the ramekins and place on a baking sheet. Shape them into pumpkins with a cookie cutter and draw their faces with the puff pastry. Lastly, brush the Jack-o'-Lanterns with egg and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

5. Mummy Meat Loaves

The sweet cherry tomatoes at the center of these mummy meat loaves will give them a burst of juicy flavor.

Ingredients:

  • White/yellow potatoes, 3/4 lb.
  • Kosher salt and pepper
  • Large eggs, 2 pcs.
  • Ketchup, 2 tbsp.
  • Worcestershire sauce, 2 tsp.
  • Panko/plain bread crumbs, 1/2 cup
  • Garlic, 2 cloves
  • Medium carrot, 1 pc.
  • Ground beef, 3/4 lb.
  • Ground pork, 1/2 lb.
  • Grape tomatoes, 12 pcs.
  • Low-fat sour cream, 3/4 cup
  • Peas, 24 oz.

Directions:

First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with foil liners. Toss potatoes into a pot with cold water, add salt, and bring to a boil for 15-18 minutes or until tender.

Meanwhile, combine eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Stir in the bread crumbs. Add garlic and carrot to the egg mixture. Add beef and pork to the mixture until incorporated.

Divide the meat mixture evenly among the foil liners and push a tomato into the center of each one. Roast at 155 degrees for 14-16 minutes.

Meanwhile, drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add sour cream and salt and mash until smooth. Transfer the mash into a pastry bag with a ribbon tip.

Finally, transfer meat loaves onto a platter and pipe the potato mixture over each top to look like mummy's wrapping. Place 2 peas on each to look like eyes!

6. Halloween Roasted Veggies

Treat your dinner guests to these fun and healthy Halloween roasted veggies shaped into Jack-o'-Lanterns, witch hats, and ghosts!
