How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Lumberjack Beard Shape
The lumberjack is a long beard generally styled, so it may take some time to grow out. The results are worth it, and here is how you do it.
1. Grow A Full Beard
Step one in growing out a lumberjack beard is to grow a longer beard, at least four to six inches or more in length. Lumberjack beards originated from keeping lumberjacks warm in the cold season, so you want a long enough beard to cover the neck from the weather. Consider using a beard serum to promote a healthy, full beard for faster and thicker growth.
2. Trim And Groom The Beard
Once your beard starts getting long, you will want to think about how you will trim and groom it. Lumberjack beards are thick and wide and extend up into the sideburns. The beard's shape can be squared at the bottom, rounded, or designed in any shape you desire. We recommend using a beard straightener to get the facial hair uniform and then picking up a grooming kit to help style the beard. Use the included brush to tame your beard hair, the comb and scissors to cut the hair to the right length, and the beard-shaping tool along with the razor to get clean edges around your cheeks.
3. Style The Mustache
Next, you will want to figure out how you want your mustache to look. Just like the beard, the mustache can be styled in many different ways but is generally longer than shorter. The mustache should extend down past the edges of your mouth and be straight, pointed, or curled. Beard butter or beard balm will aid in shaping the mustache however you want.
4. Use Quality Beard Products
In the past, these beards were dirty and grimy from the hard work of the lumberjacks. Today’s lumberjack beards though should be soft, clean, and well-maintained. This means using the right shampoos, conditioners, and softeners to give your beard the respect it deserves. Clean your beard at least once a day and rub in the softener afterward for a smooth feel.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect lumberjack beard:

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Sparrow Beard
Going as Jack Sparrow for Halloween? Or maybe you just really love pirates? Follow these steps and you, too, can look as cool as Johnny Depp!
1. Start growing out your beard hair.
You’ll need at least 5-6 inches of hair before you can start braiding the ends, so this look will take a while to fully achieve. To speed up the growth process and ensure healthy facial hair, add some growth supplements to your daily vitamin routine.
2. Shape your beard.
Once you have a few inches of growth, you can begin to shape your beard. Use your trimmer or a razor to shave your cheeks and sideburns down to your jawline. You should also remove most of the hair on your neck. Leave the mustache, allowing the ends to point downward on either side of your mouth. If you’re using a safety razor, be sure to use a shave lube to get a close shave that is free from cuts.
3. Trim out the soul patch.
Use a thin attachment on your trimmer to create the soul patch. To do this, remove the hair just below your lip, but only on the sides, leaving about an inch in the middle.
4. Braid your chin hair.
Once you have enough length on your chin, split the hair into two sections and braid each section. Run some beard butter through your facial hair first, and then split the first section into three smaller sections, wrapping one section over the other all the way down. Finish off with a decorative bead if you’d like. Then do the same thing with the second section.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect Sparrow beard:
- Wild Willies Beard Growth Gummies: to speed up the growth process.
- Shave Lube: for a close shave and to prevent cuts.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Gunslinger Beard Shape
A pronounced mustache is a typical defining feature of a good western gunslinger beard. Here’s how to grow your gunslinger beard.
1. Start With The Mustache
You will first need to start with at least growing a defined mustache. The mustache can be short and simple or long and showy. This is usually the focal point, so you will want to pay special attention to growing a nice mustache. We recommend taking daily beard supplements to help grow your facial hair.
2. Shape And Style
Next, you should shape and style the beard however you see fit. Use a quality beard butter balm to shape it to match your facial features. You can let it get big and wide, trim it thin, or use the balm to twist the ends into a point or curls. The choices are limitless.
3. Optional: Grow A Beard
Finally, you can decide if you want an underlining beard. It is optional but if you do decide to grow out the rest of your beard, try to let the mustache “lay on top” of the rest of your beard hair. This look was popular back in the day and just means to keep everything trimmed back except your mustache. If you’re having trouble with patchy or thin hair, try using a beard elixir to naturally fill your facial hair.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect gunslinger beard:

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Walrus Shape
Here are the steps to grow a strong Walrus mustache.
1. Grow Out A Thick Beard
The highlight of this look is, of course, the mustache. You will need to grow a thick one because these are usually big, simulating the tusks of a walrus. The ends can extend past the center of your lips but stop at the chin, or you’ll have a different look. If you have trouble growing thick facial hair, we recommend eating gummies supplements at least once a day.
2. Trim And Style The Beard
The next step is to trim and style the mustache. Again, the width of the Walrus mustache should be just about as thick as possible. The thicker the hair, the more powerful the look. Use a beard trimmer or pick up a grooming kit to style the mustache with a comb and scissors. You can go for straight lines at the lips or let them grow wild. A beard straightener can also help if you want a smooth-looking Walrus mustache.
3. Shave Unwanted Hair
After you have styled your Walrus mustache, you will need to shave the rest of your facial hair. That means lathering up your cheeks, jawline, neck, and other areas not connected to the mustache and shaving the hair off. The clean look of the rest of your face will make The Walrus stand out.
4. Take Care Of The Facial Hair
Finally, continue to maintain the shape of your mustache and take care of it. We recommend using a beard-specific shampoo and conditioner when washing your mustache. This will give it what it needs to be nice and soft without stripping away essential oils. Wash your mustache often and then apply a small amount of beard oil once it’s been dried. This will keep it moisturized, so it doesn’t become hard and brittle.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect walrus:
- Beard Growth Gummies Supplements: All-natural ingredients will promote a healthy and luscious mustache.
- The Expert Grooming Kit: Has a razor, scissors, comb, brush, and beard-shaping tool to get that perfect Walrus look.
- The Rebel Set: This set contains beard shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer to keep your mustache looking clean and soft.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Bushy Mustache Shape
If you want to learn how to grow out your bushy mustache, then check out the following steps to get started.
1. Grow A Thick Mustache
The first step is to get a thick bushy mustache growing. Depending on how long your facial hair takes to grow, it may take a couple of weeks. Since it’s bushy, you don’t have to worry about brushing or trimming it too often. If you are experiencing difficulty growing your bushy mustache, try taking daily beard growth supplements to aid you.
2. Shave Extra Facial Hair
Next, you will want to shave the unwanted hairs around your chin, cheeks, and neck. You can opt to have a full beard with a bushy mustache, but shaving it off will amplify the power of the mustache. Make sure you use a quality razor and shave lube so you don’t have a rash or irritated skin. Wet your face with warm water, lather it up with the shaving cream, shave everything but the mustache, and then rinse with cold water for a nice clean shave.
3. Maintain A Healthy Mustache
Just because you have a bushy mustache doesn’t mean the hair should be hard, brittle, or flaky. You will still want to maintain a healthy routine for cleaning and moisturizing your mustache. That means using shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer daily, so the facial hair stays clean and healthy.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect bushy mustache:
- Beard Growth Supplements: This has vitamins and minerals your facial hair needs to grow thick and strong.
- Shave Lube: This will keep your skin hydrated and refreshed without causing razor burns or bumps.

1. Grow Out The Mustache

If you have trouble growing facial hair or patchy hair, then we suggest taking daily beard growth supplements. These will aid you in getting long and thick hair for your mustache.
2. Trim And Groom
The next thing you need to do is trim your mustache hairs every so often. In the beginning, you can let it grow out, but eventually, you will want to trim up those unruly hairs. This will do two things. First, it will keep the mustache looking nice and uniform. Second, it will help the hair grow faster. Pick up an expert grooming kit and use the supplied comb and scissors to cut any excess hair from your mustache. You can also use the included razor and beard-shaping tool to style the edges of your mustache and shave the rest of your face.
